Agricultural Land Reserve
Much of the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG) lies within the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR). This land is saved mainly for agricultural uses. Other uses not related to agriculture are not permitted unless special permission is given from the Land Reserve Commission.
Land Reserve Commission approval is required if a land owner wishes to:
- use land for non-farm related purposes; or
- exclude land from the ALR; or
- include land into the ALR; or
- subdivide within the ALR; or
- remove soil or place fill on ALR land.
An application is obtained from and submitted to the RDFFG. The information pamphlet describes the procedure for processing an ALR application.
An application form and applicant's information pamphlet can also be obtained by visiting the Land Reserve Commission website .
