Subdivision Referrals

Subdivision of land within the electoral areas of the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG) involves both the Ministry of Transportation, which serves as the Subdivision Approving Officer under the Land Title Act, and the RDFFG which evaluates subdivision proposals.

Your first step is to contact the Ministry of Transportation. There are four Ministry of Transportation offices with the RDFFG.

  1. Peace River Highways District - Dawson Creek
  2. Fort George Highways District - Prince George
  3. Quesnel Highways District - Quesnel
  4. Robson Highways District - McBride

When you make an application for subdivision to the Ministry of Transportation, they will forward the proposal to the RDFFG for comment. The RDFFG will assess the proposal to determine matters required for the subdivision to proceed. This could be an Official Community Plan amendment or a zoning change. Other considerations such as water supply and sewage systems must be evaluated by the RDFFG before the Ministry of Transportation can approve the subdivision application.

If you are contemplating subdivision, please contact the Ministry of Transportation office in your area.
