Reserve Funds
The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George budget includes contributions made to reserve funds, primarily to allow for the internal financing of capital equipment purchases.
The following statutory reserve funds have been established by the Regional District:
- Vehicle/Equipment Reserve
- Feasibility Study Reserve
- Landfill Closure Reserve
- Debt Retirement Reserve
- Budget Revenue Stabilization Reserve
- Office Accommodation Reserve
- Park Development Reserve
- Park Land Acquisition Reserve
- Region-wide Fire Protection Reserve
Funds for each service is invested until needed. As at December 31, 2005, approximately $8.3 million was held in reserve funds.
