The Mackenzie Select Waste Landfill is operated by the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George. As the second largest landfill in the Regional District, the Mackenzie Regional Landfill plays a central role in the Regional Solid Waste Management Program.
The site provides opportunities for recycling, centralized composting of yard and garden trimmings, residential waste disposal and commercial waste disposal.

Regional District of Fraser-Fort George Bylaw No. 3166, Amendment Bylaw No. 3245, 2021 establishes:

TIPPING FEES AND SITE REGULATIONS
A tipping fee is a charge levied for disposal of waste and is based on weight and type of material. Tipping fees apply to "controlled waste", and demolition, land clearing and construction waste (DLC). Private citizen may drop off small loads of household refuse without charge.
This is the first step towards a user-pay system. Generators of waste are charged according to the amount and type of waste materials produced.
Payment may be made by cash, cheque, MasterCard, VISA or debit card. Commercial customers may apply to the Regional District for credit accounts. Application forms are available from the Mackenzie Regional Landfill during operating hours or Financial Services at 155 George Street, Prince George, between 8:45 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays).
The Mackenzie Regional Landfill has a waste exchange area where reusable items can be either dropped off or picked up free of charge. Accepted items include: clothing, books, toys, sporting goods and furniture.
Salvaging of materials from dumping areas, transfer bins, recycling bins or the Marshalling Area is not permitted.
