The Village of McBride occupies 4 km² and the 588 residents are represented on the Regional District Board by Mayor Gene Runtz.
Region-wide services provided include solid waste management, 9-1-1 emergency response, fire services coordination, regional parks, land use planning, building inspection and heritage conservation. Other services include libraries, McBride & District Fire Protection, and television rebroadcasting. The Robson Valley Recreation Centre offers recreational activities year round with a hockey arena, two sheets of curling ice, a lounge and a fitness facility. The Robson Valley Community Centre has seating for 360, a stage, dance floor, kitchen and A/V system - all the amenities necessary for hosting special events, conferences and performances.
McBride is home to Koeneman Regional Park, located on the east side of the Fraser River.
