The Dore River Armouring Management and Maintenance Service Establishment Bylaw No. 3290 was adopted by the Regional District Board at the January 2023 meeting after sufficient petitions were received. This bylaw allows for future taxation for the long term maintenance of the bank armouring works if the Dore River Erosion Mitigation project proceeds. The project is the result of the Regional District working with community members impacted by the 2020 Dore River flooding to apply, and be given conditional approval, for a grant to construct bank armouring works along sections of the river. The establishment of a taxable service is one integral piece to meet the grant program’s funding conditions.

The October 15, 2022 assent vote official results for the proposed Miworth Community Facilities Service support establishing a taxable service. The Miworth Community Facilities Service Establishment Bylaw No. 3271, 2022 has been adopted and the Regional District Board will consider approving the 2023 budget to support this service during upcoming budget discussions.
