Landfills / Controlled Waste

Controlled Waste

Controlled wastes are materials that require special handling and disposal techniques to avoid creating health hazards, nuisances or environmental pollution. Some controlled wastes, like asbestos and contaminated soils, require pre-approval and a Regional District permit prior to delivery and disposal.
