The Regional District operates an Evacuee Support Program to provide services to meet the immediate needs of residents impacted by rural residential house fires. These services are offered to eligible residents when their principal residence has been impacted, and does not apply to recreational properties.

Residents without structural fire protection services are still eligible to receive the benefits of the Evacuee Support Program. If accessed within the first 72 hours from the time of the fire, these services can include:

  • clothing
  • food
  • accommodation
  • transportation

If there is a residential fire has occurred in the Regional District's electoral areas, call 250-960-4400 day or night to contact the Regional District Emergency Management Team.
